As mentioned in 'The Quickening' blog, we've had a couple of rather
busy weekends, starting with Gazastock '08. Andy and Jane can only
speak for the Saturday afternoon into early evening segment of the
weekend, but if that was anything to go by, everyone had a great
time over the entire weekend while raising money for an extremely
worthy cause. Naturally Q stood out for their lead guitarist and
the general moody demeanour of the majority of the band (apart from
Hen on drums, who looked like a kid in a sweet shop, which was
infectious!), and Three-o were a revelation, definitely worth
hanging on to see!
The Maniac recording the following day went... well it went! Poor
Andy and Emlyn are now trawling their way through the tracks to
arrange them within an inch of their lives - so keep an eye on the
site; we'll be uploading six new tracks imminently!
And finally, the thank yous:
Thanks to Jennie for the spectacular cooked breakfast to keep the
band going through all the recording!
Thanks to the hen party who kept us entertained with their karaoke
versions of I Will Survive, Mustang Sally, I Love Rock 'n' Roll and
other karaoke classics at The Two Brewers while we set up. (They
left before we actually went on and reduced the potential audience
by half, but we won't hold it against them!).
Thanks to the Jam Band at Ryan's Bar's jam night in Southborough for
letting four-fifths of the Maniacs get up and do a number or two on
Sunday!
